In 2001: I gained my Sport Science degree with honours from the University of Greenwich.
In August 2001: I started work with Holmes Place (Now Virgin Active), Bromley where I started out as a Fitness instructor.
Whilst at Holmes Place, I designed fitness programmes for all new and existing members and also led group fitness classes. As a Personal Trainer at Holmes Place I developed a skill for personalising individual fitness sessions. I also took part in many in-house courses such as swiss ball and pre and post natal.
After 2 years at Holmes Place, I moved to Beckley and began work at Uplands Sports centre where I continued Personal Training and fitness classes. Whilst here I worked with Wadhurst youth football team. The team quickly developed a good level of understanding of how their fitness would improve their team performance. The team discipline and fitness improved dramatically in the space of 6 months.
In December 2005 I began working from my own studio. The name Slim Fitness was a natural choice as my initials are SLM.
I competed in my first Triathlon at Hever Castle in 2009 and the Blenheim Palace Triathlon in 2010. I enjoy the variation between swimming, cycling and running very much!
I regularly attend seminars and courses to gain new ideas. After recently (March 2010) attending a seminar with Stuart McGill I was very much inspired and excited at how his ideas can help my programme design.
