About Us

Scott3      Scott Mason.

Scott knew from an early age that a career in exercise and fitness was his calling in life. He was inspired by his P.E teachers and football coaches and has always enjoyed the continual challenge that exercise offers.

Scott wants to use his motivation to help inspire you to achieve your fitness goals.

At school, Scott's favourite subject was G.C.S.E. P.E. At College as well as A-level Sport studies, Scott also took part in a P.E foundation course which covered a wide variety of coaching qualifications including, Football, Basketball, Hockey, the Bronze medallion swimming award, first aid award and CPR L1 and L2 certificates.

Scott then went to Coventry University to study Sports Science. During the summer of 1999 Scott went to Camp America, coaching kids football.

Scott then moved to the University of Greenwich and gained his Sports Science degree with honours in 2001.

After university Scott moved quickly to begin working within the fitness industry and in August 2001 started work with Holmes Place (Now Virgin Active), Bromley where he started out as a Fitness instructor.

Whilst at Holmes Place, Scott designed fitness programmes for all new and existing members and also led group fitness classes of circuit training and weight training classes. He then progressed on to becoming a Personal Trainer where he developed a skill for personalising individual fitness sessions. Whilst at Holmes Place, Scott took part in many in-house courses such as swiss ball and pre and post natal.

After 2 years at Holmes Place, Scott moved to Beckley and shortly after this he began working at Uplands Sports centre where he continued Personal Training and fitness classes. He also started to work with sports teams and is proud of training Wadhurst football club under 13's team of 2004-2005. The team quickly developed a good level of understanding of how their fitness would improve their teams performance. The team discipline improved dramatically with the structure of the fitness sessions and they went on to win the league of that year.

In Autumn 2005 Scott also enjoyed providing Hastings football club first team and Ashford Rugby club first team with pre-season fitness sessions.

Scott then set up Slim Fitness in December 2005. The name Slim was a natural choice as Scott's initials are SLM, but please don't ask what his middle name is.
